Sefton Artists are a painting group from all regions of Sefton and West Lancashire. They were formed in 2010 and have been meeting together weekly to paint and share ideas. From small beginnings, the group has grown and still meet meekly in The Lydiate Village Centre, Lambshear Lane, Lydiate .

As a group, they have a shared interest in producing high-quality paintings at affordable prices. Their mediums include oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolour, and pen and wash. Their different styles and subjects, from traditional landscapes to abstract and experimental work, allows them to appeal to everyone. Their shared philosophy is a passion for painting. It is their hobby and their interest.

The group exhibits regularly throughout Sefton, especially in Southport. Wayfarers Arcade, Lord Street has been for many years, their exhibiting space. The group has enjoyed many successful exhibitions, each time collecting and donating to Queenscourt Hospice.

The group also participates every year in the Sefton Open at the Atkinson and also in their own landing exhibition at the Atkinson. Other venues have included Arthouse, Southport and Cass Art Liverpool.

On our website, you can explore our Painting Gallery and Exhibition Archive, where we celebrate past shows and showcase members’ artwork. Paintings are available for purchase during exhibitions and may also be available directly from the artists outside of events. Some members happily accept commissions, so if you’re seeking something special, do get in touch.

As our membership is limited, we can’t accommodate drop‑in visitors, but those interested in joining are welcome to contact us to see if spaces are available or to join our waiting list. You can also join our mailing list to hear about upcoming exhibitions and events.
Creativity. Friendship. Inspiration. That’s Sefton Artists. Come and share in our passion for painting.
